The Word & Outlook for the Professional course is a standards-based training course to introduce students to Microsoft Word 2016 and Microsoft Outlook.  This course teaches the fundamental concepts of electronic word processing and modern e-mail systems using a variety of core and intermediate features to create and edit professional-looking documents and communications. The user will build on this foundation as they continue to increase their productivity to apply creative features and enhance various documents. Students will continue to build and polish the content of their documents and communications in the later course Business Communication. 


Welcome to Food Safety & Processing Food Handler. This is a 6-week face to face/online course designed to ready you to take the California Food Handler exam. It includes the theory of Food Safety & Sanitation Food COdes & Laws, and time spent in the hands-on Food Skills Lab.

Food Safety & Processing is a four-week long virtual on-line course. It covers the essential information that is needed to pass the California ServSafe Managers exam. It will also give you the ability to acquire management positions in the Food Service industry.

Food Service Technician is a 6-week virtual online course covering the importance of food safety and the knowledge and skills needed to pass the California ServSafe or California Food Handlers test.

     The School Nutrition Management Course is a six-week course. In the first half of this class students will learn about the school menu planning grade group requirements and how they overlap at lunch and breakfast. They will compare and contrast the daily and weekly minimums for food components for each grade group at breakfast and lunch. They will learn how to recognize and identify the four requirements in the dietary specification area. Students will learn to define the purpose and use of the various menu planning tools, including the Food Buying Guide (FBG), child nutrition (CN) labels, product formulation statements (PFS), standardized recipes, and menu production records (MPR). This is one of two courses needed to promote with FUSD Nutrition, the other being Food Safety & Processing.

In the second half of the class, we will explore the soft-skills that are necessary in the workplace. We will also explore common questions that employers may ask in the interview. Together, we will navigate how to provide a strong answer to these questions.



Food Service Technician Summer School is a fast paced, in person, course covering the importance of food safety and the knowledge and skills needed to pass the California Food Handlers test.
